Feeling good about how we feed our babies

Hang on …. surely mothers have a duty to benefit their children?

A mother has a special duty to benefit her child. But this cannot be a duty to do EVERY SINGLE thing that might benefit her child.

This would mean that every decision the mother takes is other people’s business.

Of course, decisions about how we feed our babies matter a lot more than whether we take them to baby-swimming lessons.

But they are also much more personal.

They are not the kind of decisions we should be required to justify to outsiders.
